Raising An Emotionally
Charged Ostrich
Surviving Autism & ADHD with
Honesty, Humour, and Low Standards
This isn’t your typical autism or ADHD parenting book.
It contains no miracle morning routines, no Pinterest-ready schedules, and no glossy advice on 'fixing' your child.
Instead, it’s an unfiltered, painfully honest, and darkly funny memoir about raising a neurodivergent child and trying not to lose your mind in the process.
Part relatable chaos, part practical insight, Raising an Emotionally Charged Ostrich offers real-life parenting support for those navigating autism, ADHD, or both. It’s the kind of book you turn to when you’re done with polite advice and just want the truth - the tired, messy, laugh-through-tears kind of truth.
There are helpful bits. Emotionally scarring metaphors. Tantrums, tears, breakthroughs, and biscuit crumbs. It’s not a manual - it’s survival. With humour. With love. And with no filter.
If you’re parenting a neurodivergent child and looking for something real, or just need to know you’re not the only one hiding in the bathroom with a snack, this one’s for you.

My Story
I’m a mother, an author, and a proud mid-life crisis ticket holder. I’ve been published since I was 13 (yes, that poem in a nationwide kids’ writing competition absolutely counts), and I’ve never stopped telling stories that matter.
I’m a voice for anyone who can’t quite find the words, and an advocate for neurodiversity, as well as those sticky, awkward bits of life we’d rather pretend didn’t exist. By day, I write content and blogs for real people with real businesses, not just this delightful mess.
I’m also an artist, graphic designer, and coffee drinking expert (I know nothing about beans, but I can put away a latte with alarming speed).

And as a not-yet-diagnosed (thanks to the alarming assessment price tag!) ADHDer, I’m learning to find peace in the art of oversharing.
Publishing my first book, Raising an Emotionally Charged Ostrich, has me bouncing around like a kid on Blue Smarties and half a gallon of cola. It's a big old tick off the bucket list, and a victory against getting old and boring.
I’m already steamrolling straight into the next book. And with 1001 ideas, ping ponging around in my head, it's time you pull up a chair and get comfy.
I can’t promise sanity, solace, or sangria (I don’t even drink!), but I can promise honesty, a few laughs, and a whole lot of reality. Because life’s too messy to go it alone.
